The nurses here will end up doing the same, they adore you. If our prismagram didn't say enough.

[ It's full of "Dr. Jakurai Sightings", sneaked shots of Jakurai just... being himself and offering some good advice. Then again, they post mostly about their handsome men working there, with a sporadic "Dr. Megumi Says..." — not that Megumi discourages it. Have charm, get business, right? And her colleagues— they certainly embody charm.

She smiles in amusement, though his words trouble her... and she leans in and kisses the corner of his mouth, followed by another over his lips herself. ]

Partners, then. Boyfriend when I'm feeling particularly affectionate. And you know— I'm sure your Hifumi and Doppo would happily make time for you. Don't decide what they should be doing for them, aye?

[ It's not fair for him to decide if they should or not. Their love and affection for him is their own! So she smiles and pokes her nose with his, wanting him to feel just as loved by her. ]

We'll start you with a course of cuddles and a main dish of kisses. [ She jokes, though she pauses as her ears flick up. People are cheering in the streets below... she pauses and checks her device for the time, her eyes widening. ]

Hells. It's almost midnight. Were we out here that long?

[ That means the new year is on them... and she sits up properly, extending a hand to him to stand as she urges him to the side of the building rooftop. The celebrations are in full swing, and it's a few minutes to countdown... she smiles a bit. ]

Almost looks like how it is back home, whenever we were in Kugane. Ready to ring in the new year, love?

I have fear that the nurses will begin bringing me home cooked meals if I forget my own lunch one more time. Aah, but this setting...and the setting I am used to are much different. Emergency medicine is never being able to sit down, or sleeping in your call room and getting woken up several times during the night. But this...it is calm and I am able to really focus on each patient.

[He accepts her kisses readily. Happily even.]

I do wish that for Hifumi-kun's sake, that Doppo-kun were here.

[Looking at this own device, he raises a brow. They really had been talking for quite some time.]

I am as ready as I will ever be.

Sounds about as harsh as what I'd be doing on the field during the war... but I'd rather not think about that right now.

[ She really doesn't want to think of the conflicts in the past that she aided as a healer in, those rough nights at the Matron's Reach and worse. That, and... those have memories of her husband, who she also doesn't want to think about.

At least Jakurai is someone she does want to think about... and as he talks, she chuckles. ]

Maybe you'll get your wish, soon enough. It would be nice to meet the people you care so much about.

[ As the countdown begins in cheers from below them, Megumi leans in against him, arm around his back as her ears flick down and up again. 5...4... 3... 2...1. The cheering echoes around them, and bursts of coloured fireworks light up the sky, and she turns to look up at Jakurai. ]

Happy New Year. Make a wish.

[ That's all he'll get before she urges his face down to press their mouths together in a kiss, gentle and full of affection- and with the intimacy of her feelings.

( My wish is for you to accept the love you think you don't deserve. ) She thinks, suddenly feeling like her heart is racing with want for this lovely, sweet man- and that want simply embodies the need to see him content and happy.

As long as she's here, maybe... she can try and help him find it.

It would be nice if he could find a bit of it with her, but she isn't selfish. Not much, anyway, and she hopes he'll let her be if she does decide to. For now, as she breaks the kiss briefly, she purrs slightly against him. ]

Let's do our best together, aye? I'll be happy if we can stand side by side.
