After the cave debacle

Doppo had to admit his memory became hazy as the two had left the cave. There was only so much he could panic without feeling utterly exhausted, and the mental gymnastics he did with Rei had left him reeling. There were so many questions; what did the hospital room symbolize? Why was he afraid of that? And what had been the meaning of that looked he'd seen in the older man's eye?

The pain of his injured hand must be getting to him, he supposed. It was throbbing horribly and the thumb at least was starting to look swollen which he was sure was not a good sign. He was so tired, but his feet found their way to Jakurai's door.

He should knock, but he spent a couple moments just staring at the door before gently rapping his uninjured knuckles against it. He knew Jakurai wasn't one to judge, but he knew he looked a mess; covered in dirt and mud, clutching his right hand close to his chest.
